Femininity- a word which is somewhat difficult to understand. God has made each of us( male or female) showing there should be distinct difference between the two. As a woman, it is our responsibility to let our femininity shine. But what does that mean ? Do I always need to keep my nails painted ? Or is it an offence to kick back and play football ? Or am I a failure if a 3-course dinner is not on the table at the right time?
The answer to these questions is a ‘NO’ . Much of our perception of what it means to be a ‘woman’ is shaped by our views of a woman’s role in history . A woman draws out various characterestics starting from physical , mental , emotional , biological . She is capable of doing anything and everything. It s her inner strength that helps her fight against all odds. It is a God’s gift and all of us must appreciate it. The origin of a child , daughter, wife, mother, grandmother is the journey of an average woman.
It is said that the woman was made of rib out of the side of Adam , not made out of his head to top him neither put of his feet to be trampled on by him but out of his side to be equal with him , under his arm to be protected and near his heart to be loved by him .
As a young woman taking her first step into woman hood , I often find myself struggling in a world made up of conflicting messages about what women is or how one should be. It is the media or the people around that continue to reinforce the misguided views about women especially when it comes to their place in society.
But whatsoever , being a woman is something to be proud of . She is sensitive , assertive , beautiful and unique. She is God’s creation and should never be kept apart or excluded from anything that she wants to do.
