First love: Unforgettable episode

Every single person has experienced love and the definition of love is different for different individuals. But love is important and every human being wants to be truly loved.

First love is intense, memorable and passionate. So memorable that it casts a shadow on relationships for ever afterwards. First love is the one that you truely have feelings for.One person that you will never forget, their love will leave an imprint on your heart that will be forever.First love will be the one who will be the hardest to get over ,may be at times you can never get over and his thoughts will be suppressed somewhere deep inside your heart . It is that one thing that will still make you smile even when you are having the worst day of your life and who after parting will still make you love them. First love never leaves.

But do you ever totally forget your first love?

My answer will be ‘No’. (People might have different opinions about it).

The reason first love is so compelling to experience or in fact to read in the form of stories is because there is something so powerful about a young love experience. Is it because it happens when our hearts are still innocent and pure — before that first inevitable heartbreak?

It is true that we tend to get even more sentimental as we age, especially about memories of long ago. Very few people tend to settle with their first love and that people is so exciting and good that only a person who has experienced it can relate. On the other hand staying with the memories of  an unfinished love keeps some allure for many years but its painful too.

GUIDE TO LAND OF PARADISE:MALDIVES

Needing some break from our monotonous routine, me and my husband planned a trip to Maldives this summer. Penned as the world’s best honeymoon destination and the playground of the rich and famous from neighbouring Arab countries, Maldives is no doubt one of the world’s most beautiful destinations and I would love to share my experience and every details of the trip.

The Maldives are the perfect place for couples looking for a luxury island vacation. This country of 1,000 islands has everything a person could want in a tropical island – clear water, white sand beaches, palm trees, warm sunny days, and lots of great diving. It’s as close to heaven as you can get. You can even sleep in bungalows right over the water.

22 July was our departure. We flew from Kolkata to Maldives via Sri Lanka. Since Mihin Lankan was the only airlines (it was cheap also) that would take the minimum time to reach the destination from Kolkata, we booked the tickets.

The cheapest cities to fly from are Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia and Colombo, Sri Lanka.I would suggest to book an earlier flight is why that no ferries leave Male after a certain time in the afternoon if you haven’t made the bookings earlier, which means you will be stuck in one of the world’s most boring capital cities for 24 hours.

Getting a visa for Maldives is not at all a big deal as you will get the visa on arrival.

Hotel :  Taj Vivanta Coral Reef

Duration: 3 nights 4 days

ARRIVAL:

We arrived at Male around 5 in the evening and were picked up by our hotel men. We had to wait for 30 min until our speed boat arrived. But trust me guys, that 30 min wait would mean nothing as you will be overwhelmed by the beauty overlooking the airport.

I was super excited the moment I set my foot on the ground. After a 1.5 hrs ride by the speed boat we reached hotel Taj Vivanta. It was the last ferry service for the day.

SPECTACULAR!!

The island was small comparatively so it took me only 25-30 min to surround the island walking and get back to where I had started. You can also play games or enjoy water activities like snorkelling, scuba diving, fishing etc. One can also enjoy a spa day. You do not need to worry if you don’t know swimming as they have a trainer to guide you in these water sports.

Day 1:

We reached the resort at around 7pm by the hotel speed boat. One can also avail the sea plane but you have to book it earlier along with the room bookings. It was already dusk so we preferred staying in our rooms for some rest.

Taj Vivanta has water villas, beach villas and the Jacuzzi villas. We opted the beach villas for our stay

Day 2:

After having our breakfast we went to the sports centre. There they handed us a list of water sports. Since me and my husband did not know swimming, we thought of going for snorkelling and scuba diving. These two can be done even if one doesn’t know swimming.

For getting trained, they had charged us few dollars( since dollars are accepted everywhere) and we were given a class in the swimming pool. The instructor taught us how to snorkel. We were given a 2 hours lesson and it was really easy.

In the evening we spent some time around the island looking through the clear water to find some beautiful fishes swimming across and the stingray’s taking their evening nap.

Day 3:

The hotel had a in house reef where we snorkelled ad did some scuba diving in the morning. The best time for snorkelling is between 8 in the morning till 1 in the afternoon.

In the evening around 5 p.m., they had something called ‘stingray feeding’. At that time due to the increase in the water level, the stingrays would be thrown towards the shore by the strong waves and anyone could feed them with raw sea fish. It’s really an adventure feeding one of the dangerous sea fish.

Day 4:

This was the last day of our trip. The check out time was 12 noon but we deliberately extended our time since our flight was around 6 in the evening.

Here’s something worth noting: the water and the sand on the resort island is very different to the water and sand on the local islands. The sand is whiter, the water is both clearer and cleaner and the reef is often just a few steps away making it both a diver and snorkelling paradise.

A sun-kissed beach destination, Maldives is bustling with tourists all year round. While the monsoons generally last from April to August, the weather in Maldives is generally warm. The peak tourist season lasts between December and April when a number of Europeans come to soak in the warm winter sun. Keeping a packing list handy for your trip:

  • Light cotton garments
  • Smart evening wear
  • Wide brimmed sun hat
  • Sandals/flip flops
  • Swimwear
  • Sunscreen/ Sunglasses
  • Insect repellant

Right so, I think that’s it for now.

Let me know if you have any specific questions! If I think or hear of any more tips on travelling to the Maldives on a budget, I will update this in the next few days. If you have been to the Maldives solo or have more tips on how to travel to the Maldives , please leave a comment with any tips you might have!

Fashion.Style.Trend

“which brand do  you use?”

” I do not use products apart from Dior!”

These are lines often heard among people especially among high society women in India . The story is the same in almost any commercially ‘happening’ city in the world except that the names of the designers keep changing.

Fashion is the trend word now . I think in today’s world fashion is going too dramatic as in almost everything we do  must be in fashion. People are making their own fashion statements in order to stand out from the commons. Its become like a rat race as to who is the most fashionable!! not only related to the clothing industry , this word has become the centreplace for every field be it home decor , cars , going places etc .

Through this way fashion is capturing a place not only on earth but also in the heart of people. It is like  an ancient tradition that is being improvised with the passage of an era. Starting from the renowned monarchy to the common people in this 21st century , it is still flourishing. Fashion is a big business now with all celebrities, businessmen and women, and sports persons supporting it.

The luxury brands which includes Gucci , Michael Kors , Dior, Armani , etc are on the top of the list craved by most of the people to make them a part of their style statement. Makeup brands like NYX , Urban Decay , clarins , Elizabeth Arden, etc are also a part of the most wanted list. Fashion industry is increasing day by day around the world and people too have become very conscious about it.

There are separate collection of clothing as per the seasonal changes – summer , winter , spring , autumn collections. Dress designers are mostly concentrating on wedding and they design as per the occasion. TV channels have been set up telecasting fashions shows and ramp walks to give people an idea about the upcoming trends in this industry.

Fashion in India is also beginning to make its mark on the international platform, as accessories, mehendi (designs made by applying henna to the palms of the hands and other parts of the body)  have gained international popularity because of social media .

In India, fashion has become a growing industry with international events such as the India Fashion Week and annual shows by fashion designers .The victories of a number of Indian beauty queens in International events such as the Miss World and Miss Universe contests have also made Indian models recognized worldwide.

Fashion designers such as Ritu Kumar, Ritu Beri, Rohit Bal,  Satya Paul,  Tarun Tahiliani, JJ Valaya and Manish Malhotra are some of the well- known fashion designers in India.  Fashion covers a whole range of clothing from ornate clothes designed for wedding ceremonies , sports wear and casual wear.

Comparing the past and the present, fashion for people has changed over time. Not only in India, but also the whole world has witnessed changes in fashion statements for both men and women.

The secret

Something that reached my lips and stopped,

Peeping through the eyes,

At times yours and then mine,

Longs for the words to say it,

Wearing which it can reach the lips.

In the lap of voice it hesitated,

But whatever it is

Is a feeling.

Like that of a beautiful fragrance swimming in the air,

An aroma that has no voice

You know that

And of which even i have heard,

What secret is this something that can’t even hide itself from the world!!
